Learning Clip Year 3 Primary Maths Resources

Our Primary Maths worksheets and whiteboard resouces have been written for the 2014 National Curriculum. All the original resources for the Renewed Framework are still available.

To reach expected standards under the National Curriculum, the Standards and Testing Agency say Number, Calculations and Fractions will make up about 70% of the total marks but this isn’t always reflected in the number of objectives! So plan carefully and use your teaching time to cover the vital objectives.

ASSESSMENT WEIGHTING%* Which areas of the curriculum are most important?+
NUMBER OF OBJECTIVES How many objectives are there in each strand? +
LESSONS* How does this breakdown into the number of lessons across a year? +

More useful things to remember about the new curriculum ...

The Year 3 curriculum is more demanding than the previous curriculum. There is new content in Year 3 including: Counting in tenths, using formal written methods and adding/subtracting fractions.

You must practice times tables and number facts daily: The objectives expect Year 3 pupils to know the multiplication and division facts for the 2, 5, 10, 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables.

The programme of study is set out on a year-by-year basis. There is an expectation that pupils will have mastered and remembered the previous year’s objectives. Learning Clip offers teachers the flexibility to easily revisit any objectives from previous years.

Levels are going. Teachers will use Performance Descriptors (PD) to track pupils. Learning Clip includes the PD’s for every activity making assessing pupils’ achievements simple and reliable.

Learning Clip still offers lots of free resources. You can now preview every interactive whiteboard resource or worksheet for free as often as you like. Many of the Year 3 activities and worksheets are free to registered users. Just click here for a full list of the free resources.

Learning Clip is simple and intuitive to use, just browse or filter the resources by strand or NC objective to find the right activities for your lesson. Lots of the Year 5 activities and their accompanying worksheets are free to registered users. Click here for a full list of the free resources.
