So plan carefully and use your teaching time to cover the vital objectives.

LESSONS*
How does this breakdown into the number of lessons across a year? **+**

** The Year 1 curriculum is more demanding than the previous curriculum.**
There is new content in Year 1 for example: writing numerals up to 100, writing numbers in words up to 20 and using more advanced maths vocabulary.

**You must practice times tables and number facts daily.**
The Year 1 objectives expect pupils to recall all the number bonds up to and within 10.

** The programme of study is set out on a year-by-year basis.**
There is an expectation that pupils’ will have mastered and remembered the previous year’s objectives. Learning Clip offers teachers the flexibility to easily revisit any objectives from previous years.

**Levels are going.**
Teachers will use Performance Descriptors (PD) to track pupils. Learning Clip includes the PD’s for every activity making assessing pupils’ achievements simple and reliable.

**Learning Clip still offers lots of free resources.**
You can now preview every interactive whiteboard resource or worksheet for free as often as you like. Many of the Year 1 activities and worksheets are free to registered users. Just click here for a full list of the free resources.
