Using a Learning Clip

The resources are specially designed for interactive whiteboards, requiring scarcely any keyboard interaction, but instead making use of drag & drop and button clicks.

The activities are structured to allow a high level of control over both pace and level of difficulty. Because of the wide range of activities and games and because they’re presented in small self contained chunks a Learning Clip can be easily integrated into virtually any maths lesson.

Learning Clips are delivered entirely online, on demand. This approach results in a very flexible resource - teachers can access what they need when they need it and the resources are easily updated and enhanced to meet changing requirements.

All the Learning Clips run in a web browser (Internet Explorer 6 or higher) with no complicated set up and installation procedures. They all have the same easy to use format.

The Learning Clip Format

1. The activity and the objective are introduced by one of our 3 maths heroes, Triangleman Breadhead or Zero gravity.

The videos are short and lighthearted helping to focus childrens attention and enthuse them for the lesson.

The video is controlled independently from the activity - so you don't have to watch it again and again.

2. The vast majority of clips have two video parts - introduction and plenary.

3. The learning objective is written clearly beneath each activity
4. The interactive Activities are optimised for use on an interactive whiteboard and need  no keyboard interaction.

Every activity can be enlarged to run full screen

A large number of the resources have multiple levels offering both differentiation opportunities and alternative strategies for mastering core mathematical concepts.

Each learning clip has a supporting worksheet closely themed to the interactive material.

The Learning Clip Toolbar

Every activity now features a slide out toolbar with an adjustable clock, a calulator and jotting pad. These can be accessed at any time.
